WORKOUT ON THE WATER WITH THE NALU SUP

Paddleboarding is great fun and an effective way for watersports enthusiasts of all ages to get exercise. When you paddle standing up you give your body core as well as your legs and arms a workout. It helps your balance and the exercise rate can be as gentle or as vigorous as you like. The Nalu 12.5 from Ocean Kayak is a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) and surf kayak which is the ideal way to get started. It is stable and manoeuvrable and with its Comfort Tech™ seat back it can also be paddled sitting down.

This latest SUP, the Nalu 12.5 above, is a development from the 11’ (3.3m) Nalu, Ocean Kayak’s first ever paddleboard which was launched last year. This new version is not only longer but faster and can cruise along happily on coastal waters, lakes or rivers. It contains a bow hatch with Cross Lock™ buckle system for dry storage and additional gear can be carried in the bungee storage area in the stern.

A textured foot area optimizes grip and balance and there’s plenty of room so you can still stand up and paddle or surf with the seat in place. Moulded-in fins give great tracking, two self-draining scuppers are built in and there’s a drain plug. Other features include comfortable carrying handles on either side and a toggle handle on the bow. 

Ocean Kayak is the world number one when it comes to sit-on-tops and unlike many paddleboards, the Nalu is made from rotomoulded polyethylene so is very tough and durable. The Nalu 12.5 is priced at £499 and the colours available are yellow, sunrise, red, lime and grape.
